Party animal
August has been partying hearty this holiday . He now has 1 tooth, so we won't have to ask Santa for dentures.
It really is tiring being so popular.
also, he is getting around pretty well these days, so maybe we'll ask Santa for a leash and a helmet.

8 months old
August and Max are very excited that their uncle Jeremy is getting married to a lovely girl named Lauren. Here the Simmons family gathers to celebrate.
In other news, August is still teething. We are beginning to think he will never get teeth and have been investigating the availability of baby dentures.
He is in a state of constant motion, and is always busy doing this or that.
And, as always, he is the smiliest guy around.

Bad Old Toofy Monster
the photographs below depict a recent snuggling incident with mom and dad. If you notice bags under anyone's eyes that is because august has been fighting the teething monster and the teething monster has been winning.

We think this outfit makes him look like he lives in Jersey and works in "waste management". Anybody need anybody whacked?

Away we go
August inspects dad's head to see if it is seaworthy and inspects Oswald's tail to see if it is noteworthy.Plus, the first annual meeting of the Sullivan's Island haberdashers' club.
Also, to everyone's delight, some Bocce was played on the beach.

watch out! your simmons is showing
August has finally started eating food. He has taken to sweet potatoes with the same enthusiasm that he shows for milk. He likes to grab the hand of whomever is feeding him and thrust it towards his mouth, inevitably gagging himself with the spoon. It is at once inspiring and disturbing to watch.

butterfly sandwich

A couple of weeks ago August went to the EdVenture Children's museum butterfly exhibit, wherein he developed a taste for butterfly flesh. We have since been unable to satiate his thirst for butterfly blood
